Prerequisites
- A WhatsApp Business account (free; create one at business.facebook.com)
- A phone number not already on consumer WhatsApp
- Approved business verification (Meta requirement)
Steps
- Settings → Integrations → Connect WhatsApp
- Sign in to Meta Business Manager
- Pick the phone number you want to use
- Copy the webhook verification token NEXXSS shows you
- Paste the token into the WhatsApp Business config in Meta
Templates vs free-form
- Within the 24-hour customer service window (after a customer messages you) you can send any message
- Outside that window you can only send approved templates
- Manage templates in Meta Business Manager
